Edit: All Isn’t Well In Idaho, Governor
In an editorial, the Twin Falls Times-News responds to the Idaho Republican/Gov. Otter narrative that all is well, stating in part:
“Beyond the political shoutouts and grandstanding, beyond the high-brow discussion of economic development and billionaire elbow-rubbing, there lurks the truth of south-central Idaho’s economy. The people are left impoverished, while the sprawling new factories make a few very rich. It can be seen in our run-down apartment buildings, the non-stop roll of meth arrests and strip of payday lenders. It can be seen in our swelling county indigent care funds, the stack of files on public defenders’ desks, the tiny percentage of college graduates and the number of our children getting free or reduced school lunches. The state’s power brokers can say we’re the shining star of Idaho because of industrial development, but the truth isn’t so charming.” More here.
Question: Do you think “all is well” in Idaho?
