GOP Candidate Has Shaky Past

Greg Chaney, the sole Republican candidate running to replace Rep. Darrell Bolz, R-Caldwell, for Idaho Legislative District 10B, has spent some time on the wrong side of Treasure Valley courtrooms, court records reveal. “Back then, I was not the kind of person I wanted to be, so I’m just really glad to have come out of that and to have gotten a wake-up call and to have been there and be where I am now,” Chaney said. “It’s just more of a real testament to God’s grace in a lot of different ways as far as my priorities and my outlook on the world.” According to court documents filed in 2009, Chaney “pushed and shoved” his then-wife in the master bedroom, hallway and kitchen Jan. 31 of that year. He was originally charged with domestic battery in the presence of a child, but the charge was amended to disturbing the peace. He was found guilty of a charge of malicious injury to property that also stemmed from the incident/Kelcie Moseley and John Funk, Idaho Press Tribune. More here.

Question: Would Chaney’s domestic history be a deal breaker for you?
