Hillman Changes GOP Oath Response

Shauna Hillman, a candidate for the House District 7A seat now held by Shannon McMillan, has revised her response to the Idaho GOPlatform loyalty oath. Originally, she had checked off total agreement with the loyalty oath. Now, she has sent the following thoughtful letter to the Idaho Republican Party, pointing out several disagreements: “I support the platform’s preamble in general, but upon further consideration I disagree with the lack of distinction drawn between what this state party platform would like our Federal Government and U.S. Supreme Court to do, versus what can legitimately  be accomplished by the Idaho Legislature as desired by the constituents of House District 7A. If we want to “take our state back” from an overbearing Federal Government, let’s start with a conversation about issues we can affect and come up with solutions instead of slogans.” Full letter here.

DFO: This is the best response I’ve read to the silly loyalty oath circulated by the Idaho Republican Party.
