A Berry Picker overheard an interesting snippet of a conversation that took place between two candidates as they exited the shindig at the Post Falls American Legion Hall earlier today, featuring Congressman Raul Labrador and state Sen. Bob Nonini, R-Coeur d’Alene. Appointed County Clerk Jim Brannon appeared agitated as he came out the front door with county commission candidate Marc Eberlein. Said Brannon in a loud voice: “Marc, I’m gonna need some help. I’m taking (expletive deleted) from all sides.” The Berry Picker didn’t hear the context of the conversation. But Brannon recently angered local Democrats and some local Republicans with his unilateral decision to require candidates to file their candidate papers in person rather than by mail or via another person.
