KCSO Seeks Help In Lake Search

The Kootenai County Sheriff’s Office is seeking assistance from anyone that may have been on Lake Coeur d’Alene or on the shoreline around Stevens Point on Saturday evening, August 2nd at about 7:30 PM and may have witnessed the incident where Gary “Scotty” Shawver went missing into the lake from a boat. We have contacted or have been contacted by several residents and other witnesses in the area, but we are looking for any others that may have witnessed the incident. Currently, the Sheriff’s SONAR boat is on Lake Coeur d’Alene and has been actively searching the area since early this morning. Based on witness accounts, we have expanded our search area, but haven’t been successful in locating the body of Mr. Shawver/ Lt. Stu Miller /KCSO.
