I forgot to mention yesterday that I had coffee at the new Java on Sherman with Coeur d’Alene Tribe spokeswoman Heather Keen. She’s quite a talent and an IronwomanCDA, to boot. I was assigned to cover the tribe back in the ‘80s when unemployment on the reservation was running around 70 percent. The leadership of the tribe, first under Ernie Stensgar and now Chief Allan, has tranformed the Coeur d’Alenes into one of the most progressive ones in this country. I’m delighted that the tribe has become such good neighbors to the rest of us in North Idaho. Now for today’s Wild Card …
