… About the Idaho BBQ championship scheduled this weekend at McEuen Park. “Smoke on the Water” has attracted at least 26 competitors, including Huckleberries Online favorite Jeff Selle, who doubles as a reporter for the Coeur d’Alene Press when he’s not BBQing or brewing hard apple cider. The two-day evening will include food, entertainment and more, according to the city of Coeur d’Alene web site. The event opens to the public at 11 a.m. Saturday. (BBQ samples will be available to the public around 1 p.m. Sunday.) Prize money totaling $5,000 will be given away. Categories are brisket, pork butt, ribs and chicken.
