Bible on homosexuality

I’m responding to Ken Campbell’s Dec. 2 letter, addressing a Nov. 22 column by Paul Graves. I know and respect Graves.

The topic of Graves’ column was discrimination, particularly discrimination against gay, bisexual and transgender people.

Campbell cites quotations from the New Testament. We all know how easy it is to find biblical citations to support or refute most issues. However, one thing you won’t find in the New Testament is any reference to homosexuals. Christ never expressed any opinion, pro or con, on homosexuals. Because of that, it would seem reasonable to assume that Jesus had no concern about homosexuality.

He spoke of thieves, prostitutes, tax collectors and a variety of more general sinners, but nothing about homosexuals. It might be easier for everyone if we took a similar stance.
