Idaho Gas Retailers Rake In Dough
Despite a 41 percent decline in crude oil prices over the past six months, Idaho fuel retailers are seeing profit margins as high as 61 cents per gallon, according to one national report, or better than 20 percent on the price of gas. That’s two to five times higher than is typical for the state, and the highest level since at least 2009. Brett DeLange, division chief of the Idaho Attorney General’s Office Consumer Protection Division, said Idaho had the third-highest gas prices in the nation at the end of November, excluding state and federal taxes.
