KCSD: Beware Of Credit Card Scam

Warning from Kootenai County Sheriff’s Office: Within the last week, many citizens of Kootenai County have received text messages on their cell phones stating the following: “(Community Bank) 24HRS ALERT Your Visa/Check Card is locked. ***Please call VISA Card Services line 208-908-0253.” When the above number is called, you will be directed to an automatic voice system that will ask you to press one to reactivate your card. After pressing one, you will be asked to enter your VISA card number so it can be reactivated. This is a scam to steal your VISA card number, please do not enter any information. More here .
