Old Dog Learns New Trick
Usually,
I take pride that I’m a newspaper dinosaur who has survived — and even
flourished — in the new-age blogosphere. Occasionally,
however, I’m reminded by one of the younger members of the
staff that this old dog still has a few tricks to learn. Take yesterday, for
example — puh-LEEZ. I’ve been concerned for the last six months that
HucksOnline page-view numbers appeared to have dropped off dramatically sense
around June. I’ve asked around re: possible change in the way Google
Analytics counts page-views and unique views. And didn’t get a good answer
to my question. Yesterday, our relatively new blog/SR.com tech Dan provided the
answer I’ve been seeking, when he asked if I was included mobile devices in
my daily numbers. Seems there are two different places to find numbers that
need to be added together for a proper count. I discovered that Huckleberries
wasn’t losing about 1/3 of its daily traffic, as I had feared. Rather,
it’s on pace for a record 2.6 million page-views this year. Happy Days are
here again.
Question: Do you use a mobile device to follow Huckleberries?
