A Pseudonym By Any Other Name

Sisyphus: Here’s the hilarious thing. Sisyphus is often automatically dismissed by his detractors since they’re anxious to dismiss the facts he cites. One of those detractors turned Sisyphus in to the facebook fascists who required him to change it. Sisyphus was chafed by this but changed his name to one of the ordinary sounding names who just happened to be one of the more obscure founding fathers who also wrote under a pseudonym, as many of them did. Facebook automatically took it as valid even though its actually quite deceptive. The fact is, few of us know for certain that anyone on the tubes is writing under their real name. They just make assumptions based upon cultural mores. Pseudonymity is valid and as Charlie points out they earn their own reputation for credibility.
