22YO Gets Prison In Spirit Lake Death
A Post Falls man was sentenced Wednesday to 10 years in prison for the 2012 death of a teenager who drowned in Spirit Lake. Dylan P.
Paschall, 22, had been charged with second-degree murder for his involvement in Luke Anana-Kuewa’s death but pleaded guilty to involuntary manslaughter. First District Judge Fred Gibler gave Paschall four years fixed and six years indeterminate, with credit for 452 days he already served in jail. Paschall will spend at least 33 and a half months in prison. Investigators said Anana-Kuewa had been beaten, choked, smothered and left in the frigid water of the lake’s mill pond on the evening of March 24, 2012.

The young man died after a night of drinking rum and smoking marijuana turned into a violent clash at a popular party spot known as Bubba’s Pit, authorities said. Kootenai County sheriff’s detectives arrested Paschall almost one year later, after months of interviews with him and three friends who also were at the scene that night.
