Pass the fruitcake

There are many things that symbolize the Christmas season, including fruitcake(s).

Speaking of fruit cake, I found the Dec. 14 Spokesman-Review article and photos about the anti-I-594 rally in Olympia interesting, for lack of better words. There was a photo of a best man dressed in a tux on the steps of the Capitol with the bride in a wedding gown and groom in a tux in the background. The dome of the Capitol is framed in the background shrouded in fog.

However, with the best man holding an AR-10 assault style rifle, it seemed to make the photo less than romantic, if not alarming. At least we can guess it was not a “shotgun” wedding.

There is another photo of a couple of gentlemen decked out in full camouflage military-style uniforms with some type of patches. Of course both were carrying assault-style rifles. Perhaps they were ushers for the wedding. I can only wonder.

’Tis the season; please pass the fruitcake.
