Ethanol good two ways
Russ VanderWilde’s Dec. 21 letter contains serious misinformation relative to ethanol-blended motor fuels. Ethanol is a replacement for octane enhancer tetraethyl lead, an undisputed poison. It is also an extender to a fossil fuel, being almost fully derived from greenhouse gas in our atmosphere via the process of photosynthesis.
The byproduct from corn refining was a high-protein animal feed that lowered the cost of meat production.
