Thank the Bloomsday Road Runners Club for recent national recognition

In yesterday’s article about Spokane’s being named the best city for runners by the Road Runners Club of America, we failed to mention the group that actually submitted the application for the designation: the Bloomsday Road Runners Club .

Without their work, Spokane wouldn’t have been recognized as an outstanding runner-friendly community.

In a statement from the RRCA, Paul Gill, treasurer of the Bloomsday Road Runners Club, had this to say:

“On behalf of the Bloomsday Road Runners Club, the City of Spokane, Washington, is honored to be selected as the 2014 RRCA Outstanding Runner Friendly Community. … The City of Spokane’s motto is ‘Near Nature, Near Perfect’. This also reflects our multitude of trails and running paths, that are encompassed by some of the most beautiful scenery in the country. We hope you have the opportunity to join us in running in our community in the future.”
