Huckleberries Hears …

… That there’s going to be an announcement late Wednesday afternoon RE: a quality candidate who is prepared to challenge state Sen. Bob Nonini, R-Post Falls, in the Senate District 3 primary. The announcement will occur between 4:30-5:30. Also, Huckleberries hears that a solid Republican candidate will challenge state Rep. Ron Mendive, R-Post Falls, who won his House District 3 primary over Jeff Tyler 2 years ago by single digits. Mendive was supported in the 2012 primary by United Conservatives of North Idaho. John Chambers, who subbed for state Rep. Frank Henderson, R-Post Falls and now has Henderson’s endorsement also will run for a House District 3 seat. My source said that Nonini will have to take his challenger very seriously if he plans to hold onto his Idaho Senate seat.
