Paulette Jordan, a former Coeur d’Alene Tribal Council member who ran for the House as a Democrat in 2012, is filling in for Rep. Shirley Ringo, D-Moscow, through Friday. Jordan was sworn in Wednesday morning. “I had some family business I needed to attend to,” Ringo explained, and with budget-setting coming up soon in JFAC, “It seemed timely to me to just get away and take care of some of those details now. … I’m happy that I had somebody like Paulette to fill in for me.”

Jordan, a Plummer resident who calls Ringo a mentor, lost a close race to freshman Rep. Cindy Agidius, R-Moscow, in 2012; Agidius won with 50.3 percent of the vote to Jordan’s 49.7 percent.
