Chiefs’ offense reappears
The up-and-down Spokane Chiefs bounced back from two consecutive shutouts by matching a season high for goals during a 7-3 road win over the Tri-City Americans in Kennewick. Better yet, seven players had one goal apiece for the Chiefs. Season scoring leaders Mitch Holmberg and Mike Aviani have struggled lately, but Aviani had a goal and Holmberg added an assist in Spokane’s big night. The Chiefs play at Everett on Sunday night and return home Wednesday against Canadian Hockey League No. 1-ranked Kelowna. Spokane is 2-0 against Kelowna this season. Read story
