Letters: Christmas column inappropriate

The Spokesman-Review has stooped to a new low. First, you block the comments section so nobody can respond to the columns for a few days. Then, you run a highly offensive, biased and historically inaccurate column about the birth of Jesus on Christmas Day.

You have 364 other days to display your prejudices, but you have to choose one of the most special days of the Christian calendar to be insulting. We have long known that this paper is not going to report news objectively (and that bias has been stated by the editorial staff), but we do expect some semblance of decency. I guess that’s too much to ask.

Don’t buy us off with a cutesy story about Santa Claus and then insult us (especially when we are not even allowed to comment).
