Foreign policy madness

Have we gone mad in this country? We send our best young people, like Capt. David I. Lyon, 28, of Sandpoint, to Afghanistan, along with billions of dollars to President Hamid Karzai, and for what? Their Stone Age people plant bombs everywhere to kill them.

We went to Afghanistan to get Osama bin Laden. We got him, so why are we still there? Karzai and many Middle East countries want our money, but they hate our guts.

Congress agonizes over raising our national debt ceiling. This would not be necessary if we cut off all the foreign aid we send to those countries who support our enemies. We could also restore the money we took from our military’s retirement funds. Why can’t our Congress figure this out?
