Widmyer: McEuen Timeline Will Be Met

Work on the $20 million McEuen Park makeover in downtown Coeur d’Alene continues through the winter with officials expected to open Front Avenue to through traffic by next Wednesday, January 15. City officials met with representatives of the general contractor, Contractors Northwest, Inc., this week to develop a plan to assure the lakefront park will open to the public this spring as scheduled. “As with most projects of this magnitude, challenges arise,” said Coeur d’Alene Mayor Steve Widmyer. “City staff is working very closely with the contractor and we are confident that our pre-determined timeline will be met.” Moving forward, the city will provide weekly updates on the project to the public based on information from regular meetings between the contractor and city officials. “Keeping the community informed, and the project on track and within budget is a top priority for the city,” Widmyer said/ Keith Erickson , city of Coeur d’Alene.
