A bridge to distraction

Though I’m not defending New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie’s behavior, isn’t the hypocrisy of national media rising to epic proportions? Their coverage of traffic on the George Washington Bridge as nationally relevant is asinine when we have stagnant employment, war in Afghanistan and, oh yeah, a little thing called nationalized health care that has turned into the Miley Cyrus of government policies – crashing and burning before our eyes.

These true newsworthy items cost lives on foreign soil, affect our jobs and economy and, if not done correctly, health care will end up costing Americans real money levied through fines and taxes well beyond our generation. These and other newsworthy items are where our attention should be.

And yet, we’ve found ourselves distracted by the new and shiny bridge to nowhere.
