They Can Do That?

One of the oddities that I encountered during my recent vacay in California occurred on H99 near Bakersfield. My brother was at the wheel on the freeway, when a motorcyclist blew past us along the center stripe, between our vehicle and a truck. I couldn’t believe the fellow had the nerve to make the attempt in such a tight space at 70-plus mph. But I was surprised further when my brother said that the maneuver was legal in California. That driving moment came back to me moments ago when my police scanner reported that a motorcyclist was driving between vehicles at a high rate of speed on eastbound I-90 through Post Falls.
