Moments ago, Mayor Steve Widmyer of Coeur d’Alene released the following statement re: the officer-involved shooting of a black labrador named Arfie in downtown Coeur d’Alene Wednesday:

Coeur d’Alene Mayor Steve Widmyer said there will be a complete and thorough review of the officer-involved shooting of a dog on Wednesday near downtown Coeur d’Alene. “The city takes incidents like this extremely seriously and will examine all aspects of what happened and if correct procedures were followed,” Widmyer said. “When the review is complete, the findings will be made public.”
