Java Addresses Dog Shooting
On its Facebook page, Java on Sherman offered this comment re: the police shooting of Craig Jones’ dog, Arfee, Wednesday morning:
“Hey everybody, it’s time for us to address all criticism and curiosities. The Cda police department was called yesterday, simply, in order
to investigate a van that may have possibly been the one involved in attempted child luring. As members of this community, with children, we felt compelled to have this checked into. We were unaware that there was an animal in the vehicle at all, the Cda Police Department was not called because of the dog. While we respect our local poli ce force, we in no way condone the actions that took place here yesterday. We love families, children, and animals- we welcome and host several dogs on our patio everyday. Java on Sherman was not involved in the decision making processes of the officers that handled the situation, we had no idea that any life had been taken. Nor did we make the decision to have the vehicle towed-that is what we were instructed to do, after the fact.” More here.
Question: Java, at its new location on Sherman Avenue, has come in for its share of criticism in the dog shooting incident Wednesday. Seems to me that the business acted responsibly in calling police to check out the suspect van. Thoughts?
