What’s Up — With McEuen Mud Pit?

I don’t want to give Joker & Right Girl fodder for another day of comment bombing runs, but … what’s up with that mess in the southwest corner of the green space at McEuen Park — the one nearest the Harbor House. It’s a mud pit with water pooling in the ruts today, after several days of intense sun. Did someone miscalculate the runoff from the grassy area? Was there some sort of engineering miscue involving the splash pad and holding tank? Inquiring minds want to know.
