Phobias abound
Webster’s dictionary defines a “phobia” as an unreasonable, inexplicable or illogical fear of something. If one disagrees with the right to carry a weapon, for example, does that make that person “gunphobic”? I would argue not. That person simply has a disagreement with it.
So why then, if one has a disagreement with the homosexual lifestyle or gay marriage, does that make that person homophobic? Can one disagree with something without a phobia ascribed?
I guess from now on anytime someone disagrees with me, I’ll just tell them they have a phobia about whatever it is.
