Climate debate is hot

I take exception to recent letters regarding global warming, in particular David Camp’s (June 6), which is the most condescending letter I’ve read. Camp believes that any dissent from his theories is dangerous and should be dismissed out of hand. Your voice should not be heard.

Allow me to assert that the science on climate change and its causes is very much open for debate. You couldn’t get a room full of these scientists to agree whether the Earth is warming or cooling.

I know this: If you can get an environmentalist to convince you that if we can just self-sacrifice – eliminate fossil fuels, pay higher energy costs and exorbitant carbon taxes to fund alternative sources that are expensive, ineffective and destroy the economy so that we can prevent another Hurricane Sandy – then there are two fools in the room.

Cap and trade is a huge transfer of wealth from citizens and businesses to the government, not by legislation, but by regulation. It is a scam and destroys the economy, which is why other countries have abolished it. But we’re all about to find out how powerful the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency really is. God help us.
