Goats Overrun Anti-Bergdahl FB Page

The “Bowe Bergdahl is NOT a hero” Facebook page must’ve really gotten someone’s goat. The page was founded a day after news broke that the soldier from Hailey, who spent five years as a prisoner of a Taliban-affiliated group in Afghanistan, was being freed in exchange for five Taliban prisoners. It was one of several Facebook pages run by people who think Bergdahl is a deserter and are unhappy with the deal to free him. On Monday, though, the page was taken over by someone or some people who quickly got busy posting hundreds of photos of goats all over the page. They also posted this message:

Bowe Bergdahl is an American. He volunteered to serve his country. When you have a mile in this man’s shoes and completely understand what he went through and what is in his mind you have the right to pass judgement on him…Advocating leaving a man behind and spreading rumors and lies makes you horrible Americans…The goatz are here to offer you peace and love…Enjoy!!! Question: I’m going to wait until we have a lot more information re: Bowe Bergdahl before forming an opinion re: his capture in the Middle East. For now, I’m glad he’s back in this country. You?
