TSA tip
In regard to Mark Silver’s letter (June 24) about being turned away from the Transportation Security Administration PreCheck quick line, even though he qualified under the program, I can understand his frustration. I too am a member of the program.
Part of the problem with PreCheck is that not all airlines are participants. For instance, Alaska Airlines participates, but Southwest Airlines does not. This only adds to a passenger’s confusion. As a result, whenever feasible I fly only on Alaska. I registered my PreCheck information at their site and have had no problem with boarding. However, I always have in hand when I check in at the ticket desk a copy of my letter that shows I qualified under the TSA PreCheck program.
I would advise anybody participating, in what is really a good deal, to check ahead of time to see if the airline they plan to fly on is a participant.
