Huckleberries Hears …
Update: Duane Rasmussen reports that a packed house heard Coeur d’Alene attorney Susan Moss ask the Coeur d’Alene School Board to extend civil rights protections for gay people in district schools. Scott Maben of the SR was at the meeting. I’ll keep watching for his report.
… That the Coeur d’Alene School Board meeting that begins at 5 o’clock this afternoon could be anything from a barn burner to a regular monthly meeting. Word is that local woman may ask the board during the public comment period to “add the words” to the code involving the Coeur d’Alene School District. Opponents of the “Add the Words” movement are already talking darkly re: what they might do should the School Board elect to do so. The likely scenario? The request is made — and the school board takes it under advisement. Opponents, of course, can speak to the request during their 3 minutes of allotted public comment time. Stay tuned.
