Frosh Legislators Seek Re-election

  • Luke Malek: State Rep. Luke Malek, R-Coeur d’Alene, announced he is running for re-election. “Tara and I are honored to have the support of our family, friends and the people of Coeur d’Alene,” Malek said, referring to his wife. “We are both very passionate about making our state a more prosperous, safe and enjoyable place to live. The fact that we have the opportunity to pursue this passion in the Legislature is humbling,” he added.
  • Ron Mendive: State Rep. Ron Mendive, R-Coeur d’Alene, announced he will run for re-election. In office, he has focused on states’ rights and private property rights. Increasing parental choice in education is another priority, and he has a seat on the House’s education committee. “Will this bill lead to greater parental choice?” Mendive said. “This is the question I ask myself each time I evaluate reforms. My constituents want to know that they will have control of their child’s learning.”

DFO: I’ll be following the Kootenai County and state of Idaho Web sites closely, to bring you the latest filings.
