$400K Sidewalk Repair Work Begins

Major repairs to downtown Coeur d’Alene sidewalks have begun with the removal of some trees and sections of sidewalk as crews work to eliminate “trip hazards” and bring the city center into compliance with federal disability laws. Over the past several months, city street crews have identified sidewalks sections downtown that pose pedestrian risks due to cracks and upheavals caused by tree roots and foundation settling. Early work will focus on tree removal along Seventh Street to allow for handicap access. Work is being done by city street crews and is expected to last through the summer.
