Shabby ethics exposed

What great journalistic principle were you upholding in your expose of the Duke University freshman who is a porn star when you divulged the identity of her parents, where they lived and where her father is employed?

What truth were you so zealously seeking in trying to interview the parents?

Did you want a photo of the mother in tears? Did you want the father to express his concern about the health risks his daughter is exposed to? Did you want the parents to discuss with you the morality of their daughter’s occupation?

What exactly were you wanting to convey to your readers that high journalistic ethics demanded?
