Cougar Calls highlights

From Pullman — Bill Moos joined Cougar Calls with Bud Nameck on Monday for his weekly radio appearance. You can listen to the podcast when it’s put up here , and we’ve put together some highlights after the jump.

— Moos said that he expects to have the men’s basketball coaching search wrapped up in the next day or two, if not sooner. He denied traveling to Boise last week.

— The Cougars are looking for a new track and field coach. Moos said that the one candidate was interviewed last week and expects to interview two more this week.

— Moos said it’s “not all roses” for athletes who unionize saying that they would have to pay taxes and would have other complications. Mentioned John Blanchette’s column.

— Moos said that Beasley Coliseum “looks a little tired” and that giving it a makeover is on the agenda. But said they the location is a positive and likes the practice gym and that Beasley’s condition hasn’t come up during the coaching search.

— Moos also said that the football team will return to Lewiston for fall camp next season.
