Be a good neighbor

Jim Cameron’s May 1 letter regarding McDonald’s building in the Logan neighborhood needs a response.

First, Hamilton Street is not a five-lane road. It does have significant traffic flow, which continues to increase. I live in the Perry neighborhood, where both Arthur and Perry streets have traffic flow from Interstate 90’s Second Avenue exit. Both are pass-through routes for commuters.

In the eight years I’ve lived here, the car and truck traffic has increased significantly. Speed limits may be 20 mph, but I assure you it’s seldom observed. Speed on Hamilton is about 35 mph on average.

Most important, owning a property is a responsibility, which includes being a good neighbor, including consideration of the neighborhood residents, along with complying with codes.
