9th Circuit issues temporary stay, blocks same-sex marriages from starting tomorrow in Idaho

The 9 ^th Circuit Court of Appeals has just issued a stay , temporarily halting U.S. Magistrate Judge Candy Dale’s order permitting same-sex marriage in Idaho from taking effect as scheduled Friday morning. The appeals court’s brief order says Dale’s decision “is temporarily stayed pending this court’s disposition of appellants’ emergency motions for a stay pending appeal.”

The court didn’t signal how long it would take to consider those motions. For now, everything’s on hold.
