Vote for Justice Horton

Our existing Supreme Court Justice Joel Horton is a native of Nampa, Idaho, and has given 28 years to public service here in the Gem State. He served as deputy prosecuting attorney in Ada and Twin Falls counties, deputy attorney general, and as an Ada County magistrate.

Former Gov. Phil Batt appointed Horton as a district judge in 1996. He served there until 2007, when he was appointed by Gov. Butch Otter to the Idaho Supreme Court. In making this appointment, Otter said of Horton: “His insightful legal scholarship, keen intelligence, integrity and independence make him a great asset to the court.”

Horton understands his role in the judiciary and what Idahoans expect from the court. He knows his role is to uphold the laws of the United States and Idaho constitutions and the laws of the state of Idaho. He does not decide cases on his personal feelings as to what he would like the laws to be. His Idaho-grown integrity is needed on our Supreme Court.

Please vote for Justice Joel Horton on May 20.
