- 9:24 p.m. Richert/The EDge: State Rep. Lawerence Denney has pulled ahead, by about 600 votes, in the four-way GOP race for secretary of state. That’s with about 13 percent of precincts reporting, so numbers are still early. At this stage, though, Denney is the only one of the Liberty Caucus conservative candidates with a lead tonight.
- 9:18 p.m. 26% of precincts: Denney 34%, McGrane 30%; 22% of precints: Ybarra 32%, Grover/Jensen, 25% apiece.
- 9:07 p.m. Betsy Russell/EOB: Associated Press has called three top-of-ticket races: Sen. Jim Risch, over a little-known GOP challenger who didn’t campaign; 1 st District Congressman Raul Labrador, over four little-known primary challengers; and, most significantly, 2 nd District Congressman Mike Simpson over tea party challenger Bryan Smith
- 9:02 p.m. Denney slightly ahead of McGrane 32.9% to 32.0% Ybara leading 4-way superintendent race.
- 8:48 p.m. Kevin Richert:EDge: With 8 percent of precincts counted, Mountain Home administrator Sherri Ybarra is leading Andy Grover by less than 400 votes in GOP state superintendent’s race. Here is Jennifer Swindell’s profile of Ybarra .
- 8:32 p.m. Emilie Ritter Saunders/Boise State Public Radio: With 63 of 942 precincts in, Otter, Simpson, Labrador, McGrane, Wasden, and Ybarra are leading their respective GOP races
