Yield sign cheaper

Congratulations, to the road engineer that won the 2014 contest for the most asinine, expensive and useless project for its size. This $20,000 project is at the intersection of Lyons and Cincinnati, which has hardly any north/west traffic.

The narrow streets were not widened, but a large 20 foot-diameter obstruction and sign were placed right in the middle of the intersection. All that was needed to make the intersection safer were two yellow triangle signs stating “YIELD.”
