Hearn: Why Do They Move Here?

Tom Hearn, Coeur d’Alene school trustee, on his Facebook wall: “Is it just me or are other people tired of these right wing groups moving to Coeur d’Alene? What is it about this area that seems to attract more than our share of fringe political groups? We have another so called ‘Reverend’ (remember ‘Reverend Butler’ and the Aryans, not counting a couple ‘pastors’ already here) moving to this area to form another ‘church’ espousing political nonsense about the government and fears that they might take his semi-automatic rifle, etc.. I’m sur e that was at the top of the list that Jesus felt people in His church should be concerned about. With these type of folks moving here no wonder we can’t get moderate Republicans elected in North Idaho or, God forbid , Democrats. Why do these fringe political and religious groups keep moving here and is there anything that us more moderate folks can do about it other than leave? ”
