On The Waterfront — 11.13.14
- I saw workers putting the finishing touches for the Christmas holiday display on the Boardwalk.
- I heard the first vehicle with studded snow tires whiz by — a white PT Cruiser.
- I visited “The American Worker” statue, donated by Dean & Cindy Haagenson, to the city of Coeur d’Alene. It stands at the 6th Street entrance to McEuen Park, just off Front Avenue. The inscription on the accompanying plaque said the statue is dedicated to the farmer, loggers, miners, construction workers and factory workers who built America. “The American Worker” is about 6 feet tall and comes with a fully stocked tool belt. Between his shoulders, on the back, is the inscription “CNI” — Contractors Northwest, the general contractor for the McEuen Park overhaul and Dean’s company.
- I deposited a half consumed cup of coffee from The Vault in a recycling can near the Harbor House.
- I enjoyed another brilliant sunny day walking along the glistening waves of Lake Coeur d’Alene.
