Round curb a waste

I had to see for myself before responding to “Ticket fines used for traffic calming” (Oct. 30). Who in the world came up with that?

I drove by the new traffic circle on Cincinnati Street and Lyons Avenue and could not believe my eyes. Over $40,000 to put a round curb in the middle of the intersection. To be specific, in the middle of a residential neighborhood. Who is this calming?

I bet the people that live there didn’t have anything to say about it. This year will have three more built, according to the article. The total cost is over $602,000. I can name a lot of arterials that could use the money rather than a residential intersection. Just drive around town and you can name them yourself.

Now, the city has a new pot of money for all those great ideas that waste our money.
