Top Comment Today (RE: Cancer workers fired to be re-hired ): 100% correct! As a 29-year employee at Sacred Heart, these “re-allocations” are becoming more and more the SOP. Lay people off, then re-hire as “new” employees. As a “new” employee at a “new entity” at a new pay rate, loss of seniority and accrued benefits, and undoubtedly with less scheduled hours. In no conceivable way is it the “same job” as the one they lost — Elaine.
