Flu Claims Kootenai County Woman
Today, the Panhandle Health District (PHD) reported the first death from influenza for the 2014-15 season. A woman over the age of 65 in
Kootenai County died due to complications associated with the flu. This was the first flu-related death and first confirmed influenza case in the state of Idaho this season. “This tragic event emphasizes the need for everyone to take precautions, including getting a flu vaccination,” said Jeff Lee, PHD Epidemiologist. “The flu is a serious illness and kills up to 30,000-40,000 Americans every year”/
