Justice Blocks Gay Marriage Ruling
Idaho Gov. Butch Otter said he’s “pleased” with the emergency order from U.S. Supreme Court Justice Anthony Kennedy staying the start of same-sex marriages in Idaho; Kennedy asked attorneys for the plaintiffs to respond by 5 p.m. Thursday. “I’m pleased that Justice Kennedy has given us the opportunity to make our case in a way that helps avoid the confusion some other states have faced,” Otter said. “We also asked the 9 th Circuit for the same relief, but I’m grateful that Justice Kennedy acted so promptly”/ Betsy Russell , Eye on Boise.
