From Post Falls Police Department Swing Shift: “Burglary in-progress was called in by Walmart on Mullan Ave. A male and female with 3 children were observed exiting the store with 2 large power wheels and a cake. Their vehicle was stopped on the 12th Ave and both were detained for further investigation. The male invoked and did not want to talk with officers. The female was also not coope rative. The male tried to tell the officers he purchased the merchandise online and had it shipped to Walmart for pickup however, they were watched as they selected the power wheels off the floor and pushed the items out the door after grabbing the cake. The items totaled just about $400.00. The female indicated it was their children’s birthday and they wanted to make it the best birthday ever. The male was booked for burglary and transported to jail. The female was released but was informed she may face conspiracy charges. Walmart took possession of the stolen merchandise. ”
