More on Sanders below.
Terrance Sanders, a standout defensive back and kick returner for the Spokane Shock the last four seasons, has agreed to a two-year contract with the Jacksonville Sharks.
Sanders is the Shock’s second key loss in Arena Football League free agency. Quarterback Erik Meyer signed with San Jose last Friday.
Sanders, one of the most popular players in Shock history, had 11 interceptions and 16 pass breakups last season. He returned four kicks and one missed field goal for touchdowns, earning AFL playmaker of the year honors.
Sanders was first-team All-AFL kick returner in 2013 and he was also first-team defensive back in 2012. He had 30 interceptions in four seasons with Spokane.
Sanders thanked Shock fans and the organization in a post on his Facebook page. “I will always have a special place in my heart for (Spokane) but Florida is home,” Sanders wrote.
