UI Goal: More Vandals, Higher Pay
Increasing enrollment and improving salary competitiveness are two top priorities for University of Idaho President Chuck Staben - and he
believes they are related. The president detailed various aspects of the university — including its budget, enrollment and research — as well as his areas of emphasis and plans for the future during his first state of the university address Monday in the Student Union Building. He hopes to make the event, which essentially served as a status update on UI, an annual occurrence.
Staben (shown delivering speech in Lewiston Tribune photo), who began as UI’s president in March, told the approximately 200 students, UI employees and community members in attendance the university is “pretty good” when it comes to retaining students who are admitted. But he doesn’t want UI to be a “pretty good” institution, he wants it to be one that exceeds expectations/
